Marge has been one of our key team players for over 10 years. She keeps our garage door installation and repair office running smoothly and has excellent customer service skills. She’s made it a point to learn the extremely detailed information on the countless types of parts, motors, springs, doors, etc. and is the “go to” person for all things garages!

As one of our first original employees here at WD Door, Bob started working for us three months after Steve and Jeff started the business back in 2003. This alone shows his dedication and commitment to the garage door business. He is one of our most efficient, accurate and seasoned residential garage door service technicians, and always answers his cell phone in the happiest of demeanors, no matter how long of a day it has been. He receives the most positive feedback from customers than any other installer or service technician on our team. This says so much about his character, that a person would take time out of their busy schedule to call or write an email about what has been going right, rather than wrong.

Select a Unique Garage Door in Des Moines: Set Your House Apart

Have you been searching sites like Pinterest and Houzz, looking for just the right style of door to match your home? Look no further. Garage doors in Des Moines are becoming increasingly artistic and full of design options these days. We’re saying goodbye to the traditional White Colonial style. More and more people use their overhead door as the main entry to their home and want both quality style and functionality. Additionally, many garages make up anywhere from 30-50% of the total façade of the home, resulting in a major part of curb appeal.
This month in the Des Moines garage door repair industry, we’re turning the spotlight on Tonya Williams.
Tonya is a committed, hard-working employee and a joy to be around. She started with our team in January of 2015, but she fits so well into our culture at WD Door that it feels like she’s been around forever. She comes from an accounting, billing, and customer service background, which translates directly to her crucial role as our service scheduler. Originally from Arkansas, Tonya has a charming southern drawl, which all of us “Northerners” enjoy. Words like “oil,” “cement,” and “milk” give us a chuckle when we hear them come from her. Her southern charm is definitely a plus when it comes to working with both pleasant and difficult customers! Outside of work, Tonya enjoys her grandkids, camping, swimming and watching sports.

"Huh...my door has a spring? Where is it?"
Part of our job in the garage door repair business is to educate our customers. Sometimes we’re able to troubleshoot with them over the phone and prevent a service charge and trip to their house. Other times, from asking the right questions, we discover the customer has a broken spring that needs a spring repair.

Upgrading Your Home's Garage Door in Des Moines Leads to Great ROI
Posted by Allison Peet on Jun 17, 2015 11:47:00 AM
We have all seen them when we’re driving through our neighborhoods, the house with the dilapidated garage door. What was once a new and beautiful home has become an eye sore not only for the home owner but also for the neighborhood. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Replacing your garage door can be an easy way to give a tired, sagging home the face lift it needs. And for people thinking about selling their home, a new garage door can represent a great return on investment (ROI).
It’s late in the evening on an endlessly busy Tuesday; I have the kids down for bed, and as I’m starting to unwind from the hectic day, a nagging thought enters my head: “Did I close the garage door?” Other times, I drive away from my house in the morning, leaving for work. I’m just out of my neighborhood, and I wonder, yet again: “Is the garage door closed?”
