It’s smart to clean your garage door once a year, however, to wipe away any dirt or grime that has collected and prevent fading. To clean your fiberglass door, simply mix five gallons of warm water with one cup of a mild household detergent that contains less than 0.5% phosphate (such as Tide), gently rub away the dirt, and rinse off with a hose.

Fiberglass garage doors can be designed with added insulation to help improve a home’s thermal efficiency, block out street noise, and make the door operate more quietly.
