In 2016, Wayne Dalton was featured on inspirational home building TV show, Home Free. Chosen by FOX to be a part of the show, Wayne Dalton supplied and installed garage doors for homes on various episodes throughout the month of June. It was exciting for us to see one of our main garage door manufacturers in the spotlight, working in the community and helping individuals achieve their dreams.

Home Free

Home Free is an unscripted home building competition where contestants face new challenges weekly. Mike Holmes (famous professional contractor) and Tim Tebow co-hosted season two of the show. Each week, contestants would work on building new homes, testing and honing their skills every step of the way. If contestants’ work wasn’t up to code or didn’t meet certain standards, they were eliminated from the competition. The show’s hosts offered guidance along the way to teach contestants new skills and help them reach new home building heights.

Contestants were eliminated throughout the competition until only one remained. In season two, the grand prize was twofold—$100,000 to the winner and a dream home to the winner's personal hero.

Wayne Dalton’s Part in the Show

The first five episodes of the show featured Wayne Dalton classic steel and carriage house garage doors.

The classic steel garage door, Model 9100 Sonoma, has pinch-resistant panels and highly energy efficient polyurethane insulation. It also has a sturdy, three-layer construction and is praised for its strength and affordability. Its safety features and low-maintenance build makes it a great door for families and homeowners who want a door they can depend on for many years.

The two carriage house doors featured on the show, Models 6600 and 9405, are steel garage doors built to look and feel much like stable doors. Carriage house doors are charming and classy. Unlike real wooden doors, they don’t require heavy maintenance. You get the advantages of steel with a similar look and the beauty of wood. Carriage house steel doors are also well insulated and come with numerous customization options for color, windows, hardware, and safety features.
